Once you've connected Sentry to Height and have linked your Height tasks to Sentry issues, you can configure the Sentry bot to post messages on Height to keep your team up-to-date with live status changes that happen in Sentry. Doing this helps you stay on top of critical bug fixes and error-tracking, and ensures that teammates who don't use Sentry stay in the loop, too.

Configuring Sentry to post messages in Height

From Product settings → Integrations → Sentry → Configuration under the "Post a message on Height when:" section, check the box for "Issue status changes." By default, all status changes will be posted, but if you want to only be notified about specific status changes, click "Select statuses" to choose the ones that you want to receive notifications for.

From the "Select statuses" dropdown menu, choose the Sentry statuses that you want to be notified about. Checking the checkbox of a status option will enable the Sentry bot to post messages on Height for that specific status update. Unchecking the checkbox of a status option will disable the Sentry bot from posting messages on Height for that specific status update.

For example, want the Sentry bot to post a message on Height when an issue's status has been Resolved, but not when it's been Ignored? Check the "Resolved" box and uncheck the "Ignored" box to stay updated on the specific changes that matter most to you.

The message posted to Height will detail the status of the linked Sentry issue, so when the issue's status is updated to Resolved, the Sentry bot will post a "Resolved" message to let you know that the issue is now resolved.

In addition to having Sentry post messages in Height for status updates, you can also configure Sentry statuses to be auto-updated as tasks are managed and completed in Height!
